Remains one of the defining heavy records of its era, and Brent Hinds’ playing was an enormous part of what made Mastodon so distinctive. His unmistakable combination of metal, progressive rock, Southern guitar vocabulary, and fearless musicianship influenced an entire generation of guitarists and heavy musicians. Captures so much of what made him special as a player-wild, expressive, unconventional, and completely his own.
